Description
This one-hour session from Positive Dyslexia provides assessors with clear, practical guidance on how to integrate access arrangement recommendations into diagnostic assessment reports in line with the new SASC report format and the 2025–26 JCQ regulations.
The webinar covers the purpose of access arrangements, the assessor’s role within the JCQ process, and the principles of evidence-based recommendations.
Delegates will explore how to link assessment results to specific arrangements, ensure recommendations are compliant with JCQ regulations, and reflect the candidate’s normal way of working. Examples will be used to illustrate best practice and help assessors with phrasing and structuring recommendations within their reports.
Learning outcomes
Aim:
To explore best practice in diagnostic assessment report writing to include Examination Access Arrangements in Recommendations.
Objectives:
By the end of the session, assessors will be able to:
- Present EAA recommendations appropriately in diagnostic assessment reports for SpLDs.
- Understand the assessor’s role within the JCQ access arrangements process.
- Ensure that they work within the JCQ regulations when including access arrangements in a diagnostic assessment.
- Link assessment evidence clearly to recommended arrangements, including justification and normal way of working.
Course prerequisites
Delegates should:
- Hold an assessor practising certificate (APC) level qualification to undertake diagnostic assessments for SpLDs.
- Have some working knowledge of the JCQ regulations for Examination Access Arrangements.
